Our horses are part of our family and we strive to ensure their happiness and comfort along with yours. Our horses live a very natural lifestyle and spend their days off in large, grassy fields. They receive daily feed supplements rich in vitamins and minerals. Our entire herd is kept "barefoot" - i.e. no horseshoes, which allows a more natural gait and cadence. Our horses are hand picked for each rider based on your experience level and proportions prior to your ride. Each ride begins with an instructional demonstration on horseback and an opportunity to practice before heading to the trails to help make you and your equine friend to become better partners in the saddle.

Nestled in the beautiful Maya Mountain Range in the Southern Belizean district of Stann Creek, Outback Trails offers a unique horseback riding experience. We offer a place where guests can not only ride, but learn and connect with horses, while being immersed in nature on our privately owned trails.  We have trail rides for all riding abilities, experienced to beginner, young and old alike, private or public rides.

Our private rides are perfect for those looking for a more intimate or specific horseback riding experience. Whether you’re an experienced rider looking for a bit more of a challenge, a novice who wants to learn one on one and build confidence, or a couple looking for a romantic getaway.  We can customize your private ride to fit your needs.

Our public rides are kept to small groups of 5-6 people per ride unless it is a friend or family group ride. Each ride begins with an instructional demonstration on horseback by your guide, and an opportunity to practice before hitting the trails to help make us better partners in the saddle. Our rides leave from our stable into an open field which progresses through a coconut grove grove and into the canopied rain forest marking the entry into the lower foothills of the Maya Mountains, with all its natural flora and fauna, whispering shadows and decades old medicinal trees and plants.
